Physicochemical properties
White acicular crystal. Melting point 184-185 ℃ (decomposition). Soluble in methanol, ethanol, ether, benzene, acetone, chloroform and ethyl acetate. It is stable in neutral solution and easy to decompose into glutamic acid or lactone into pyrrolidic acid in acid, alkali or hot water. Odorless and slightly sweet.
Main usage
The product is transformed into glycosamine in vivo. As a precursor of mucin synthesis, it can promote ulcer healing and is mainly used as a drug for peptic ulcer. In addition, it can also be used as a brain function improver and in the treatment of alcoholism.
